Jack Prelutsky

Jack Prelutsky was my favorite Poet growing up. Sorry if you are Team Shel Silverstein. He had this paperback Children’s book of Halloween poems that I still own, albeit by now the edges are weathered and some pages have even gone missing. I pulled it out this morning since it is almost Halloween and all. There’s a poem about Ghosts on the stairs and Skeleton Parades. There’s a poem about bobbing for apples and eating too much darned candy. There’s a poem about Kings and Queens and Pumpkins and Tricksters. There’s a poem about Cats as Black as Black as night. But…there’s also a poem about a Goblin. And boy for some reason do I just love Goblins. Swoon!
