Bullying is something that cannot be ignored, especially with today’s technology.  With the current story in the news, regarding the 68 year old woman bus monitor, it’s becoming more clear that being bullied does not start or stop at a certain age.  Why would middle school children bully a 68 year old woman?  I was unable to watch the video posted throughout the news articles because I know I would instantly cry and be disgusted.  We all know that this is not the only case of bullying taking place.  In school yards, school buses, classrooms, at work, at home…it is happening everywhere.  Everyone can take part to make a difference and help stop bullying.  Why should someone be bullied for being themselves?  No two people are alike, we are all so very different and that is what makes the world such a beautiful place.  As “adults” we may think bullying does not exist anymore, but we know it does.  It is important to acknowledge it and make a difference.  With being in a Sorority or Fraternity can often come the pressure to bully or haze others, just remember nothing good comes out it.  Being positive and motivating is a better way to treat those around you.
